WHAT IF I AM LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

If you are late for your appointment, it is possible that you may lose time from your treatment and be charged the full amount. Our busy therapists have an obligation to start the next scheduled appointment on time. Should you need to cancel/change an appointment, 24hours notice is required, otherwise a cancellation fee of 25 euro will incur. We appreciate your understanding.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

We recommend all new clients aim to arrive at the salon 5-10 minutes ahead of their scheduled appointment time. This will allow you to familiarise yourself with the location of our salon on 1st Floor, 16 Fitzwilliam Street upper, Dublin 2 and give you some time to relax before your treatment commences.

HOW DOES A MASSAGE OR PHYSICAL SESSION FEEL?

At the beginning of each treatment your therapist will use a light pressure. This will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes more relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased on specific areas to relieve muscular tension. Do not hesitate to ask questions or mention if you feel any discomfort so that your therapist can use another approach or technique.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER THE Oil MASSAGE OR PHYSICAL TREATMENT?

Most people feel relieved of pain. Some experience immediate freedom from long-term aches and pains. After this initial period of feeling deeply relaxed, a majority of people experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity. This can last for several days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during your treatment, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water afterwards. After Deep Tissue Massage, some may feel that their muscles are slightly tender after a treatment. This is perfectly normal. When a deep tissue massage is done correctly, the benefits are experienced within the next few days. You may feel rejuvenated, or a bit sore, depending on the particular therapy session. Any stiffness or pain experienced after a deep tissue massage is a completely normal reaction and should subside within 24-72 hours.

How Will I Feel After The Traditional Thai Massage Treatment?

Thai Massage is very different from the western style oil massage techniques and often leaves you feeling quite different as well. Traditional Thai Massage involves a lot of movement and stretching so it tends to leave you feeling quite energised rather than sleepy so it’s a great choice if you have things to do after your treatment.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Our main priority is to have you feeling pain free in the quickest amount of time possible. However, please be advised that we cannot and will not guarantee you will feel better after a specific amount of treatments. It all depends on a number of variables including the severity of your injury and how quickly your body responds to treatments. Several of our clients experience immediate relief from long term pain after only one or two sessions, while for others it can take a number of treatments to get back to optimal health.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A MASSAGE OR PHYSICAL TREATMENT?

This depends on your goals and your budget. For maintenance, many people will have a massage or physical therapy treatment appointment once a month. However, it is not uncommon for people to request treatments fortnightly, weekly or more. What is important is that you recognise and prioritise a regime of self-care for yourself. The health benefits that you will receive from massage, physical therapy are cumulative if availed of regularly.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Oil Massage:
You will be required to disrobe for a oil massage or physical therapy session. For hygiene reasons undergarments are to be left on at all times during all treatments-no exceptions! (Ladies, you will be required to remove your bra for back massages). For all massage and physical therapy treatments, you will be disrobing down to your undergarments and as a result, it’s not important what clothing you wear when you arrive at the salon. Once you are undressed and on the plinth, you will be modestly covered with a large towel. Your therapist will only uncover the part of your body being worked on.

Traditional Thai massage:
Thai massage doesn’t use any oil and the treatment is done fully clothed. It is important that you wear loose comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely because your therapist will be moving you into different Yoga type positions and stretches. It is best to wear the type of clothes you would wear to a Yoga or exercise class.

WHAT AREAS ARE WORKED ON?

A full body massage will include your back, legs, arms, hands, neck, shoulder, face and scalp. During a physical therapy session the problematic area(s) will be treated. During reflexology, your feet and lower legs will be the part of your body that will be worked on.

HOW ACCESSIBLE IS YOUR SALON?

Our Thai Massage centre is conveniently situated on Fitzwilliam Street Upper, with pay and display street parking spots at the front door.
